All quiet here so far in Western Mass. Just the occasional stray gust, but even that was probably just last night's pizza.

Spot wet and breezy here, but nothing to bad.

The gym near where the missus works was packed though, but that was about it.

Building muscle to deal with the post-apocalyptic zombies. Good plan.

Squally here in our coastal CT town, the local TV channel says winds averaging 35-40 MPH. Last night the wind was around 20 MPH, so this wind this morning is whipping up the tops of trees & sending the leaves into whirwind eddies down the streets. No real rain here, just occasional misty "spitting". The worst is supposed to be hours away from us as far as the wind is concerned. For the rain the worst may be tonight, when the evening tide comes in and Long Island Sound starts flooding the shore areas (?).

We took a walk earlier this morning & saw lots of traffic on the main artery some distance away. Most stores are closed, except for the odd convenience store, but a walk-in medical clinic near us WAS actually turning on the interior lights and letting clients in the doors.

Not bad so far here this morning, few small gusts of wind and not rain that I can see, just having a chill out day and praying that we keep power, I don't know what I'd do without my BE and FB fix's..... Stay safe everyone, especially those in the full path and on the coast.

FACT: My local Walmart is out of ice. I'd like to thank my local radio station for that nugget of information.

Schools are closed here for a half day because a storm may come through on Wednesday. I understand due care and all that. But that's just silly.

Mrs Nutek tells me the highways (i84 and i91) are closing to all traffic at 1pm.

I went into work this morning for an hour or so... Not too bad outside really, and nice to drive in with no traffic. :)

Back home and just gonna wait it out now.

Edit: I wonder if they will take the roads in like they do in Father Ted when it rains.

Our office is closing at noon because it may get windy this afternoon.

If it's going to be that windy I'd rather be at my cube in the centre of a sturdy, concrete & steel building than in an overgrown garden shed surrounded by trees. But I don't think (hope) it's going to be *that* windy here. Oh well, have laptop, will travel....

My daughter is down at the harbor where she works (Cape Cod, MA.) She says the wind is picking up but no rain and they have power still. It looks like high tide is 12:40 this afternoon..

The HMS Bounty (well, a replica made for the film) just foundered and went down. 16 went into the water, 14 have been rescued by Coast Guard helicopters.
