Just as well, I'll only be working there then.

Grosse point seems a good option to rent or buy.

Here in GA....(Not Detroit)...

Snakes....loads in the pines behind the house
Even had a rattlesnake in the garage last year!

Spiders....scorpions...seen quite a few, and they like to come indoors.

"Getting on with it in the snow"....The recent one day of snow stopped traffic for days, our water pipes froze up, and we were without internet or phone for 3 days.

Welcome to the USA!!

We have it here too though. The last two christmas's have severe snow on the roads and footpaths. The snow was so bad a year ago, it took a good two months for the snow to go. Luckily I had my quad bike so I was able to get about. We had had the worst of flooding all over the country. So yep I understand the things happen over there, its only the internet and phone... Whoopeedo.

Hi all.

Just a heads up on the next few steps.

I heard from my job agency that my CV (resume) was sent off last week and it seems to fit the bill but I don't have a degree, my friend at the agency asked if a US attorney would justify the fact that my highest qualifications are the equivalent of a degree then that would surpass what they wanted.

They said that they need to see what american employees there are out there first (as it is law they said), they said that my skills would be suitable for their company.

The agency said that there are also jobs as the company have another plant in Malvern in Ohio.

Don't know what the area is like, but still its a step in the right direction.

Just a question.

Is this a forum for help?

Or just so you can have a laugh at the newbie.

Just want advice thats all before I make the jump.

I'm sure you guys/gals had to ask questions before you moved to live in the US, at least I have a chance of going there now.
