Yep, two systems of immigration. Those with power and those without.

Concerned about future complications at the US end if I did that, I went the normal route. But if that offer was made to me, I have no doubt Harry was made one he didn't refuse.

I had a similar conversation with someone re a Green Card.

Yeah, it does add evidence to this all being planned in advance... and that their sojourn in Canada was merely to take advantage of the free security Trudeau's government offered for a few months. Once that expired, they bailed to California.

It also meant inspection in Canada instead of at the POE in the US. With tighter security from Canada, much less hassle for them when going through secondary.

Unlike Pamela Anderson, they didn't want publicity at that point in their move.

This?

"An O visa is a classification of non-immigrant temporary worker visa granted by the United States to an alien "who possesses extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics"

That is the one, I could see how he could get it. Not quite a demanding as that may suggest.

Not that easy, but I know a few people who did, so I can see how a Lawyer can put together a good case.

That's what steveq started out with 7 years ago, now we have our green cards and are counting down the time to be able to apply to naturalize.

So because a journalist (who probably doesn’t understand how the process works and probably also hasn’t been through it) said so, it must be true? There’s nothing strange about a naturalized citizen petitioning their parents. It’s not as if Melania couldn’t afford it. It’s a very simple process. Not sure why anyone would think there was anything suspicious about it.

The thrust of that article, one paragraph aside, is the hypocrisy of Trump decrying "chain migration" when that was exactly what his wife was doing.

Not what I would consider a creditable source but:

“While it is not know how Harry has stayed in the US without permanent US citizenship, it is believed due to his royal status, he probably has an A1 visa which is reserved for "diplomats and government officials".Earlier this month, The Times reported while Harry is eligible to become a permanent US resident, he will not pursue residency and citizenship in the country.

A royal source said: "The Duke has not made an application for dual citizenship, and I don't think he will apply for a green card at any point."

He would have to go GC first before US Citizenship

But I can see an A1 is possible but did not think it came with work authorisation.

However it does come with Diplomatic Immunity of some sort.

How would he be paid?
