Locally, no drop this week, but down the road a way (along the route I'm taking tomorrow), it's dropped to $1.79 - and our Kroger points will get another 10c off that!

Nice way to start a holiday trip.

Chevron and Petro Canada matched the independent place today, now 98.9/liter.

I assume Shell likely matched as well.

Discount brand/ no brand stations are the same, with only isolated stations selling for 1-2c less.

I got 10 gallons this morning to see me over the weekend, at $1.979 and I hope to get a better price when I fill up again on Monday. ..... If you'd told me last September I'd be paying $1.979 in January and expecting a further fall, I'd have known that you were barking mad!
The price in the next town has already dropped 2c since I bought gas on Friday morning. Gas in the nearest town to where I live was still stuck at $2.099 - $2.109 when I came home tonight.

I filled up on Friday afternoon. $2.17 at the time. It's back down to $1.98 again. I think they did that one on purpose ...

Good job too as I was on fumes.

So, any thoughts on how the death of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia might mix things up? I wouldn't be surprised if there was another coup or Yemen and ISIS made a move.

That bulk store yesterday, rammed with cars, 4 deep on both sides of all the pumps and this place is huge...there were cars lined up all the way down the entry road and around the corner to the traffic light.

Crazy stuff...

Gas in the nearest town to where I live has finally eliminated the pricing anomaly compared go this region of NC, dropping $1.999 - $2.019. In the next town it has dropped another 2c to $1.939 - $2.019.

Wonder if that was because of the snowstorm predicted to go on all day today in New England? Plus the usual people gassing up for the weekend....

I'm old enough to remember waiting in long queues at the petrol pumps in the 70's, and my big fear with all these oil companies now cutting back on production is that we'll see this sort of thing happen again....

Was bad enough a few years ago when there was gasoline rationing after Hurricane Sandy, but that was just a temporary supply issue.

It's only a matter of time before we hear of someone storing cheap gas in their garbage can, bathtub or hot tub.

It's tempting to get one of those rain barrels and a syphon...we're only renting after all

Anyway, I don't know if it's just because of the snow storm because they weren't that much cheaper than a couple other stations nearby, who weren't busy at all. Just very weird.

Luckily, we still had a half tank...I'm normally getting close to the red line by that point in the week and hold out till the grocery shop as it's on the way and cheapest
