You don't need insurance and no registration on a moped here - crazy!

My mother-in-law says that they call them DUI-mobiles (or something similar) in SC because it's a handy way to get around after a ban/night out on the town!

Technically, you don't need car insurance here in NM, as long as you're willing to leave $60k on deposit with the state treasurer.

We bottomed out at $1.57 for a couple weeks. Hovering around in the $1.90s now...

Don't think we bottomed out quite that low - 1.61 was the lowest I recall paying. We're on the up again too..Costco up to 1.83 this morning.

HEB in Fairfield had 152.9 one Sunday morning. I wish I'd taken a picture for posterity. Most of the places near us are nearer 1.95 now.

Nearest ones have all crept back over the $2 mark. Lowest it got to other than Costco was $1.92

I had to goolemap Fairfiled Looks like its 2.5 hours from us, so a bit of detour. Although in Texas terms, maybe it's just round the corner.....!

I thought you were in Katy?

Fairfield is the area around 290 and Mason, including the outlet mall.

Also, apparently somewhere near Waco. That's confusing.

mopeds require both here. They are defined as low speed motorcycles.

Under 50cc or 1.5 kilowatt for electric
Doesn't require shifting after drive system is engaged
Max speed of 70km/h
weight of 95kg or less empty (no fuel, no battery for electric)

Don't require a motorcycle license, any other type of motorized bike requires one.

Motorcycle license requires additional training/instruction and testing on top of the normal license.

Aha - the only one I found was the "near-Waco" one! The other one is only about 30 mins away with the new 99 (yes, Katy, Fry/99 area)....still a bit far for a gas run though!

Rumor has it that I can get 40mpg from my V-Rod but I can't quite ride it like I'd need to get that
