I hope they are seeing a proper immigration attorney, and not just some 'immigration specialist', 'visa agent' or 'USA business consultant'...

And always remember to DYOR

We have visited the US on several occasions and just want the opportunity for a better lifestyle for us as a family (I know there are alot of people who dont necessarily agree)
I know we have a very long way to go but hopefully we will get there eventually.
Nobody has mentioned health insurance yet, so I'll be the first. Have you looked into how much that's going to cost for a family of four? Prepare to be shocked.

No, that is the major point here. Not only can they NOT become citizens, the parents won't get Green Cards from this. Green Card/Permanent Resident status is a prerequisite for a citizenship application.

The E-2 visa is for an adult to come to the US ONLY to run his business. And then leave.

Sorry - didn't mean to come across as abrupt.... just want to warn anyone who wants to use this visa to 'get a better life for the kids'...

It just doesn't work that way. And unfortunately there are plenty of unscrupulous individuals out there ready to fleece people who want to 'relocate to Florida' etc.

i know there are sharks out there in every profession. one just has to do their own homework which the OP is doing.

Maybe OK for informed families.
Everyone's after something different, and it's early days for our OP.

I would certainly encourage her to do a LOT MORE reading in the Immigration and this forum, to see the stories from people who have made the move the same way. When I do that, I usually find my questions have been answered and a whole bunch I never thought of.

Will they get in-state fees at college age?
I know in PA you have to have PR status.
