Well done AWP for sticking up for yourself
At our last address we got hassle from the few locals in the area who seemed to think every non US citizen is a terrorist. We had a Union Jack flying proudly out front and the fat slob next door leaned over the fence one day and spoke the only words he uttered to me in the 4 years I lived there.... "Yuh know you shud take thut flag down, yer in thu US of A now"
I asked him "If you emigrated to the UK and put up a Stars and Stripes and some guy told you to take it down what would you say ?"
"Well ... I wud tell him tu go f**k himself"
"Then go f**k yourself" I said ............ we never spoke another word.

Re: Now they've really P*ss*d me off
The HOA strikes again!
Not flags this time...oh no, they've opened a completely new front: Lawns.
For those that arent aware Florida is currently languishing under a several year long drought and this year has really been a bad one....no significant rain since february and with scorching days everything is getting like the sahara. Including the lawns. Except for those that pour 1000's of gallons of water on theirs everyday....oh they are so green and lovely! We are not in that category, preferring to have enough water for everyone to drink and wash than have a lovely green lawn.
Anyway, the HOA yesterday sent out threatening letters to all those who's lawns are not like Wimbledon Center Court...us included...saying if we dont do something about them we will be sued. Well, ho ho ho.
I have responded by pointing out that, while I realise the phrase "Social Conscience" in American translates to "F&&k thy neighbor" this is not the case in the UK and as long as drought conditions exist I shall not be wasting water on my lawn and seeing as its a weed it will be all lovely and green again at the first smell of rain.
