they do exist... but.... they are in the extreme minority.

Update on the coworker using the services of eHarmony.
Last week, she admitted that she was going on dates with three different men in one week.
Clearly, she's getting into the swing of things but I haven't had an update on any of the dates. She even called one of them to ask him out (and he accepted).
It's getting quite exciting, don't you think?

Good heavens. Is she advertising that she's not (ahem) experienced?!
I can't see that she'd be finding three Brits but hey, maybe she is, fair play to her then.

Also, of the three men, one's Canadian and the other two are Americans...

matchmaking services in the USA suck ass big time. The women don't call back after you've told them you're married.

There are many people in the UK who use internet dating sites, but so many other people have a negative attitude towards it, that the users often feel they can't admit to how they met their current partner. Of course, the newspapers only ever report on what can go wrong when it comes to internet dating, which doesn't exactly help to change anything. I can't remember reading anything positive about internet dating when I was in the UK!
I also found that a lot of people in the UK still saw internet dating sites as only being for people who were desperate, or afficted with some kind of mental disorder. I remember someone telling me that people who use computers to talk (ICQ, BE, etc), or to actually meet someone, are obsessive by nature and to be avoided at all costs! However, people with those attitudes, seem to think it perfectly normal to confine themselves to only being able to meet a partner from their own locality, i.e. whoever just happens to be in the local pub!

I guess I must be getting old. I could never imagine dating three men in the same week. I'm a bit old fashioned in that way and prefer to stick with trying out one guy at a time, seems just that bit less stressful.

She must have an awfully appealing profile -- eHarmony hasn't been That Good To Me, but then again, its religious bent might turn off folks here in liberal Austin.
I have come across some awfully strange Brits on these services and haven't found one yet that seems.... okay. But then again I don't usually meet Americans online so no way to compare!
Someone just please clone me Gary Lightbody and send him for Christmas.
