Nah, they don't. Or maybe they do. Who knows, but saying there's no Eastern Europeans there is just as absurd as using weather as a reason to say somewhere is bad or good

I'm talking at a town level. I wouldn't want to live in the low income areas, which is where these people usually are. Where we live according to the last census the median income is around $150k. That suits me fine.

I live in a village. I don't know, nor do I care what everyone makes as long as they don't bother me.

For that matter, my household income is nowhere near $150K - are you sure I'm allowed to be talking to you?

Oooh. You have big problems!

Now I don't like my beloved London overtaken by Eastern Europeans, but I'd still live there in a heart beat.

But low income earners - just think that over please.

Re. Wokingham - again, I remember visiting many years ago, and it looked just like any other bit of UK suburbia. But what Christmasoompa is describing sounds abosolutely lovely - so what do I know!

I couldn't think of anything worse than living in London. I take your point though, however, remember also London is one of the richest places in the Western world.

But you're barely any more "East European" than all those Italians in New York are "Italian".

So you relocated to Boston, MA which is crowded and expensive like London, but with less history, less culture, and poorer public transport.

I had a waiter the other week who said to us he was Italian. So I asked him how much renewing his Italian passport cost, as I commented by UK one is extortionate to renew from the US. Turns out he isn't either an Italian citizen nor has he ever visited Italy.

Yet he feels able to call himself Italian. I informed him he was American, and if he was Italian to get the citizenship. What a berk.

I don't live in Boston. I live in the 'burbs outside. The thought of that would fill me with just as much detest as living in London.

NB: I would never compare Boston to London. Like you say, they're worlds apart. Boston is minuscule in pretty much every regard compared to London.
