Question "To dream....the impossible dream..."

As I have seen it's nigh impossible to get into the States unless you marry a USC or get a company transfer.....how did all the x pats on here get in and stay in ?

Came to America in 2002 to work and travel. Met some guy who wouldn't leave me alone. Ended up travelling to Mexico and back with him.
Turned out to be the love of my life and married him last year.

My husband got a job with a research group here on an HIb visa. It took quite a while to set up.

An American company was needing decent software developers. Instead, they got me.

Intercompany transfer for me - took about 3 months from the "By the way we are moving your job to the USA" to us actually being here and discovering Delaware really is a State!
