I started this way - then the wife (a USC) got us transferred to the UK so I joined a start-up there which we sold to a US company who moved us back to CA last year. I'm not letting the wife work any more in case she tries to get us back to the UK!

From Northern Ireland so managed to get my Green Card through the lottery.
Applied in 2002 and got it round easter this year - I'd almost forgotten about it.

Moved out in july - if I could move 5 or 6 of my mates out i'd have no complaints

Alas no. There was all sorts of confusion about whether or not it would meet the US emissions standards. On that basis they could hold our container, with furniture, et al, and charge us daily until sorted. Plus with all the other hassle we were going through in the UK and the short time frame involved I decided to do whatever was going to make life go a little smoother. I did suggest to SWMBO that I could leave it at my Dad's to ride when we go back to Blighty. She mentioned things like, dead money and no chanve mister, so that was the end of that. I'm still gutted now!!
