Some folks download UK telly, movies and gurls doin' naughty stuff using special software known generically as P2P (peer to peer). The problem here is that it can use up too much of your bandwidth for VoIP to work well, and and so you need to limit how much it can suck. However, we've already come to the conclusion that this probably ain't your problem!

No, lol I can use the phone to change channels it seems, maybe get a better reception. I live on a busy road (Madison Avenue) o maybe it is something to do with that.

I will try that tomorrow. I was getting upset today as all I could get when trying to call the UK was 'all lines are busy' but then I did get through to a friend and we chatted for over an hour on a very clear line. Maybe the first number I was calling has been changed.

With Vonage, you need 90kbps or greater up speed. But remember, if you are doing anything online, this could reduce your speed. If your up speed is 792kps, then you won't have a problem unless you are uploading crazy amounts of data.
Some routers will allow you to give priority to voice to prevent interruption (check the make and model online for details), else you'll just have to watch your online activity whilst on the phone.

Tel3 are good, they're cheap, sometimes the phone line is crappy, but you can use it from your mobile for the same price, I think it's well worth it.

Tried Vonage before but it doesn't work well on my end so I had to go with Onesuite and never had any major complains. The advantage with Onesuite is you can use it as a prepaid card and still use their voip service (ala Vonage) at the same time with just 1 account to maintain.

Well, obviously you only get the person you want but if my UK calls are free would it matter?
