Default Scotland v England

Check this out, I guess the Sky Masters Tournament has prompted this.

Ally McCoist, John Collins, Andy Goram and Gordon Strachan have all agreed to play for Scotland, who will have Jim Leishman as manager. England have Gary Lineker and Paul Gascoigne confirmed, as well as player-coach Mark Hateley.

Should be a great game. This might sound silly but I really think there wil be a big demand for tickets from both fans, what's the capacity at dunfermline? Also there is the issue of a fitness unbalance. Strachan and Lineker have both been out of the playing side for years while gazza has only recently hung up his boots. Coisty and Collins are not long retired too.

Dunfermline's capacity is 11,998. I wonder if they chose to hold the game there because of the plastic pitch 'cause the old geezers are more used to playing on artificial surfaces these days?

Hey Tony, seeing as tomorrow might be the last time Aberdeen play at Tynecastle, any chance of 3 points for old times sake? Please?

Dunno about that mate. However the HT entertainment is sure to be a crowd pleaser, as Edinburgh's old public execution system is brought back. Mr Chris Robinson will be hung from some gallows in the center of the pitch...please come early to avoid disapointment :lecture:

SFA issue relegation threat
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/3475381.stm
"The Scottish Football Association has warned that clubs who become insolvent could face the threat of relegation.
The SFA will be involved in a new working group to investigate the perilous financial state of the game.
Dunfermline are the latest club in crisis and need to slash players' wages to avoid following Motherwell, Dundee and Livingston into administration."

Results:
Dundee Utd 0-0 Hibernian
Hamilton 0-1 Stenhousemuir

Tuesday Footie:

Hoddle may be going back to Southampton
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...on/3475121.stm
Isn't this a bit of a backwards step ? Will he leave the same way he did last time (went on holiday, met some reps from Spurs, came back and resigned.) I'm sure the Saints fans are not liking this.
Real Madrid have Premiership player on their shopping list
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/3475487.stm
They are looking at Ruud van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry, plus Roma's Francesco Totti. Don't think the Prem players will be going though, despite the snitload of money that will be thrown at them.

Results:
Leicester City 1 - 1 Bolton
Arsenal 2 - 0 Southampton
Leeds United 4 - 1 Wolves :scared:

LDV Vans Trophy Northern Area Final First Leg
Blackpool 1 - 0 Sheff Wed

LDV Vans Trophy Southern Area Final First Leg
Colchester 2 - 3 Southend Utd

LOL! It's bound to be better than at Pittodrie, watching some pre-pubescent girls freeze their arses off doing a cheerleading routine.

I would've thought so, but a courageous move by Hoddle. He'll have half the fans on his back from day 1. Has he achieved anything as a manager?

Talking of clubs in debt, I don't know how these boys manage to keep shelling out the big bucks for players.

(Taking the thread off topic again for a sec)

Is everybody going mad over there in Scotia Tony ?

Lollipop lady was drunk on patrol
"Linda McLaughlin, 51, was drunk when she arrived to help youngsters get to Kinross Primary School.
She admitted in court in Perth that she endangered her own life and the lives of the children, carrying out her duties in a reckless manner. Witnesses reported seeing her walking backwards and forwards across the road, as if she was unsteady on her feet."

-------

Councillor snaps over photo ruling

"An Aberdeenshire councillor has hit out at "draconian" new rules over school photos.
SNP councillor Jim Towers spoke out after the council's education committee gave the go-ahead to strict new guidelines.
The rules could stop parents from recording sports days, concerts and nativity plays - unless all parents agree in writing.
If just one parent refuses - and refuses to withdraw their child from the event - other parents may not be allowed to capture school milestones.
The rules were drawn up by education boss Hamish Vernal - who also suggested kids wear false beards to protect their identities."

------

Kids wearing beards... okaaay...

Back to footie:
Will be listening to the Chelski game online. Everyone got the link for this ? If not PM me and I'll mail it over.
(Would have liked to listen to City but they charge now.)
