Well I did say "or a beard", but you know what I mean.

I do know what you mean. But those photos all looked like harmless waiters from the local balti restaurant, not terrorists. I'd be happy for my hypothetical daughter to date most of them, if we were just going on their appearance alone rather than on the assumption they are fundamentalist religious maniacs who'd treat a woman like crap.

I just expect terrorists to look more like bin Laden somehow. More crocheted hats, more (as you said before) beards.

It's actually more worrying that they do look like nice boys.

I agree with you, and it is worrying because of that. Except for Mohamed Atta (the first one). I don't know why, but that guy just looks damn evil.

Point taken. Having just had a second look, I don't think I would want my hypothetical daughter dating him. Not sure I'd want him serving my balti either, come to that.

Let's call a spade a spade here - it's not Chinese people who are crashing planes into buildings and blowing up trains is it?

I'm seeing a slight pattern here. You can look down your nose at me all you want. Fact is, when I get on a plane these days, I feel anxious when I see an eastern looking bloke with black hair or a beard. Racist? Hater? No. I know it's wrong to think this way....but I can't help myself.

Atta has a look of a male Myra Hindley to me....think its those expressionless, staring eyes.

As I was was once told by a scouser..a true scouser is someone born on the north side of the Mersey (in the city of Liverpool) in a house from which they could see the river.
As for whether this is the genuine definition I am not sure but I bet a pound to a pinch of shit that all the scousers(?) on here that weren't born in such a location will claim it's bollocks.

I heard a similar story about cockneys. Apparently, a true cockney has to be born "within earshot of the Bow Bells" belonging to St. Mary-le-Bow church, Cheapside. Thus, simply being from London doesn't warrant you being a cockney.

Whether this is all true or not, I have no idea...

As far as I can tell, my husband has'nt had any problems from locals just because he is British. He is well known around our development here, and nobody has said anything to him at all. In fact he likes being the only Brit around here.

Anyone born in London but not within the sound of Bow Bells is known as a "geezer".
