I actually like the positive attitude of the people even though it may take some getting used to
Telly is shit so I don’t watch telly anymore
My kids have met and made friends with children from many races
The schools are better IMHO and kids have a bit more respect
I live 40 mins from a nice beach, Hollywood, Disneyland and beautiful mountains
Loads of porn shops nearby
Shopping is great (bit gay I know but I have a trainer fetish)
The English people we have met have been great and the pub ain't bad ( great karaoke eh Bored Silly ?)
Mexican food
Generally the place is family orientated restaurants etc
Feel very safe - never lock doors, no crime where we live (I know this is purely a location thing but we lived in nice bit of the UK and constantly dealt with little shits robbing stuff and vandalising)

Very happy here and we don’t want to go home

Add those (Not hollywood but we have a gazzillion parks and attractions within an hour or so) plus I meant to add:

- All the huntin' and fishin' and boatin' I can want in fantastic weather and on some unbelievable waters (sea and inland)
- I have realised a life ambition - To go through the eye of a major hurricane!

Holy smokes, Eskimo!!! Keep that up and TruBrit will open fire on you. Here she is trying to convince us all that the US is shit, and you're seriously raining on her parade.

Better duck and cover-quick! :scared:

What are you talking about? You can't do any of that stuff in the US, are you sure your looking at your world map right?

No, you're right, there's fukk all good about living in Houston.

Now Dallas on the other hand...

People are far more friendly than where we moved from in the UK.
The local Brit expats are great!
The pool is delicious for 6 months per year
We have a lovely, huge house for less than our nasty, tiny home cost in vile Surrey.
Our kids have access to better school facilities, and better after-school activities than they would have had in the UK.
...and much of what Eskimo said about LA without the beaches and Disney Land

Believe me, I know how crappy it can feel living here, but if you dwell on the downside then it's going to make life pretty friggin' miserable, isn't it?

Yeah, but I have a hell of a time picking the concrete from between my teeth.

Come off it. Nobody loves a scouser. Voice only their mother could love.
