Alan, I am so sorry to hear of your Mum's passing, I know you must be feeling like you lost your right arm
I'm not going to make comment about your remarks in your posts, I for one have not been offended by them, but then again I do 'get' your sense of humour/sarcasm etc. As I have already told you, I hear my Dad (rest his soul) in your humour, he was very dry and quick to respond, with sarcasm most of the time.
He was a very friendly chap and was always to be found in the centre of a group, giving his opinion to anyone that would have the patience to listen! Some people thought he was insulting and took him way too seriously, but he really didn't care. I miss him every day
I think for your own sake, it might be best to just control that sarcasm of yours at times, I'm sure you have read in other posts, that a lot of Americans don't 'get' Brit humour, especially the sarcastic type. In a written post it can also come over as condescending, it's difficult to interpret the 'way it is meant to sound'.
I'm sorry if some of you guys think I am saying YOU have no sense of humour, I'm not...I just think we all need to accept that maybe some of exvj's comments were not meant to be taken so seriously

What she said.
Exvj, you need to tone it down a little... Your comments seem to be coming across as antagonistic to some people and, as Englishtart said, sarcasm doesn't translate well into the written word.

It seems as if some Aussie accents really must be similar to Brummie. There is a guy from Birmingham I know here in Edinburgh who has been here in Scotland for years but still speaks like Jasper Carrot and in each of his two holiday visits to the USA.....FL and CA respectively...he was constantly been mistaken for an Aussie. I guess Americans recognise an Aussie accent up to a fashion but wouldn't have a clue how a person from Brum would speak. Maybe if he'd told them he came from Birmingham originally they'd probably think he speaks real strange for a guy from Alabama.

I will add that to your comments about 'no friends' and 'your neighbours hate you' etc etc
Teenage girls go under when other girls deluge them with stuff, but I won't
I am probably liked and respected by more people in 'real life' than you could ever hope for so just lay off with the slurs eh ?

Ah - but this goes back to before I ever was one .......
and I'm not a mod in TIO or The Lounge so you're pretty safe...... unless I hit BAN one day, but I follow the rules as well.
I'm just a nice little Brit in Italy lapping up the cheap wine.
