I see the networks are starting to dust off their St Patrick's Day themed ads -in particular the Guinness one with the three blokes racing downstairs in their PJs on the morning of St Patrick's day to open lots of green paper wrapped presents, the tag line being "treat it like a real holiday". I find stuff like that to be an irritating component of a much larger general annoyance, which is the massive wave of faux Irishness which sweeps over this country every St Patrick's day.

Not sure if this counts, but I really hate it when in the middle of an ad break a voiceover comes over and says "We'll return you to ******* after these messages".

You know, 'grape nut eaters have been called many things' then they give a list to which they should add... munching, crunching, noisey, annoying grape nut eating bastard! We usually mute commercials but whenever I hear that one I want to scream.
