Default Visa interview time frames

Hi all,

Firstly thanks to those who replied a thread I made a few months ago- the E2 visa is indeed a goer! The company is close to renewing their membership.

Does anyone have any idea on the current interview wait time for an appointment? Does it have to be in London and can you sometimes get cancellations (a bit like a passport one!) that come up?

Also any idea on what even happens there, I don't have a criminal record/driving penalties etc but still feeling a bit nervous.

Thank you

Booked my interview in London yesterday, earliest availability was 9 December 22. When you register it lets you choose the location is Europe then which city

Oh no.. that is not going to go down well with the company Is there a cancellation list type option do you know, aka slots come up and you can then rebook earlier?

Ps can you go to any other city or does it have to be London? Is it dependent on the "type" of visa?

Thanks, no issue doing that. It does read as if you can rebook as and when nearer slots come up ie cancellations which must happen. Figure it's going to be one of those check 3 x a time things!

Was this for an E2 visa or a different category? I’ve spoken to people recently who applied for new E2 or E2 renewals that applied in March/April and got interviews for May/June/July

I just recently applied for E2 renewal (also essential employee) in late April. Our attorney seemed confident of securing an interview for July-Sept timeframe in London… (I know they do a lot of E2s)

The interview itself is usually very quick/straightforward! Mine in 2017 was ~10 mins and felt more like a formality tbh

Just keep checking. They release a bunch of appointments weekly and they obviously get snapped up. You should be looking at about a 3 month wait.

Is there an alternative web address that lists the newly released appointments?

Thanks

Very helpful thanks. Mine is a new E2. My company have put a hopeful start date of mid August which seems ambitious

Can I ask what the interview entails? I could do with handing my notice in at current role beforehand so I can have a break between roles, but wouldn't want to risk it if there's a sizeable chance I may not get the visa.. I assume it's just a check box...
