So sorry to hear this. It is terrible for everyone involved. We can only hope that policies may at some point change.

was this from London and for a B1/B2 visa or a different one? and was it first time?

I also extend my condolences. Immigration disrupting yet another family union. The worst imo.

According to the spreadsheet it was from London and it was a first time. Did they specify a reason for not considering the waiver Mfaqhir

Greg187 just noticed your interview dates are the same. If the response hasn’t hit your mailbox yet it sure is imminent. Hopefully the outcome is positive

Owe no that is terrible news…. There is a lot of negative results coming through from London it seems.

Anon875 had a date before us, do we know how there’s went?

Yea I saw we share the same interview date. I have just checked mine and it still says at appointment still and the DS160 link still says refused with the date of last August.

Obberj sounds like you might be getting an update soon if they accessed your record today. Fingers crossed it will be good news.

mine says created 15th August 2024 and updated 16th August 2024.

I hoped it would have updated when they got the medical back last year, but it would appear that isn’t an update :/

Wow, mine was September 2024 and update October 2024, about a five week lag there. looking forward to getting my rejection in another two months at this rate.

Frustratingly, I was in Nine Elms yesterday, did think to take a walk down and see how many people are in line these days, but thought better of it.

Had my interview back in October, no updates since and it's still showing as refused. if I'm honest we're fully expecting a refusal, as that's all they seem to be doing right now but if by some small miracle they do issue a waiver I might have a problem with my address. We sold the house we were living in when I applied and now living in our second home which we're selling soon to buy somewhere else. The visa site don't seem to have any options for changing the passport return address and the fact we've sold up would probably spook them if I phoned etc. We've got a Royal Mail redirection setup but think they might use a courier so that's not going to help. Anyone else been in a similar position?

Still waiting, will hopefully find out in Sept/Oct but starting to have doubts now.

I seen this from one of the links on the page from the link above.

Interview Waiver Update July 25, 2025

Last Updated: July 25, 2025

Effective September 2, 2025, the Department of State will update the categories of applicants that may be eligible for a waiver of the nonimmigrant visa interview. All nonimmigrant visa applicants, including applicants under the age of 14 and over the age of 79, will generally require an in-person interview with a consular officer except:
  • Applicants classifiable under the visa symbols A-1, A-2, C-3 (except attendants, servants, or personal employees of accredited officials), G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, NATO-1 through NATO-6, or TECRO E-1;
  • Applicants for diplomatic- or official-type visas; and
  • Applicants renewing a full validity B-1, B-2, B1/B2 visa or a Border Crossing Card/Foil (for Mexican nationals) within 12 months of the prior visa’s expiration, and who were at least 18 years old at the time of the prior visa’s issuance.
To be eligible for an interview waiver based on the third bullet point above (applicants renewing a full validity B-1, B-2, B1/B2 visa or a Border Crossing Card/Foil for Mexican nationals), applicants must also meet certain criteria, including that they:
  • apply in their country of nationality or residence;
  • have never been refused a visa (unless such refusal was overcome or waived); and
  • have no apparent or potential ineligibility.
Consular officers may still require in-person interviews on a case-by-case basis for any reason. Applicants should check embassy and consulate websites for more detailed information about visa application requirements and procedures, and to learn more about the embassy or consulate’s operating status and services.

This supersedes the Interview Waiver Update of February 18, 2025.

The Interview Waiver Update you quote is completely unrelated to the Waiver of Ineligibility. Previously, certain visa applicants did not need to attend in-person interviews when renewing full-validity visas. The State Department has updated, effective 2nd September, the categories of applicants who do not need to attend in-person interviews, generally now requiring all applicants to attend in-person interviews with a small number of exceptions.

This does not change the rules for applicants who need waivers of ineligibility, who always require in-person interviews.

Could you post an image of the image please. Not sure what it is referring to.

Thanks

That's somewhat positive, not the automatic refusal some people seem to be getting. Really hope it's a swift and positive outcome for you.
