Would you kindly point out the misinformation posted. Do you honestly think that the US system is vastly different to the Canadian system on how they treat inadmissible people and how they would also apply to overcome inadmissibility. Slight differences yes overall very similar processes.

Hello everyone,
After a long wait filled with patience and frustration, we’ve finally received my husband’s passport today! He collected it from the Holborn Mailbox, and it has a 5-year visa!
Thank you so much to everyone for your help and tips. I would have been lost if I hadn’t come across this forum.
I hope this brings a bit of positivity to everyone still waiting. Hang in there! 💙

Hi NiceOneFranco if you're still getting messages from this forum, it would be great to hear from you if you received your passport back from the consulate with a visa. I see you sent if off on the 22nd April, so we're hopeful you did get it back by now.
Could you let us know when it was returned, and for how long your visa was granted. I'll add the details to the sheet to help others still waiting.
thanks

Is this his first waiver?
No need to answer this, but what was his offence?

hi Me831 yes, this was his first time to apply the waiver and visa. I think it was possession of class C drugs back when he was 17 or 18 yrs old. So its been 20 years ago

I still haven’t heard anything. I checked my case today and it was last updated on the 15th August 2024.
My refusal was based on a conviction which was over 10 years ago now. But I also think they queried my mental health due to disclosing a mental health condition, that also had to be disclosed, but the medical board said they had no concerns.
I am slightly worried as the dates I put on my initial DS160 have now passed. The dates would have been over the initial 9 month waiting time. But they have now passed.
When I had the meeting I was only there a couple of minutes but I showed proof of a family holiday, flight tickets (which where flexible dates, so I was able to change the dates) as well as proof of employment etc.
After the meeting I had, I got called and asked to return as the officer forgot to scan something and her manager was helping, and they said, this step would speed the process - not sure what part it helped….
but I am just waiting now :/ I am not holding hope, based on the fact the initial dates have passed on the DS160, bit who knows.
