I have a quick question, if we receive the email this month, is there a deadline by which we need to send our passport to them? I’m a bit concerned because at the moment, it’s taking over 40 days for some people to get their passports back.

If there’s no strict deadline, I might wait and send it after I return from my holidays around the third week of August.

Can I ask how you found out when the results of your medical were couriered to the embassy? Also, did you receive the results of your medical?
hey USAWaiver8,

I called the medical panel, and asked them to confirm the date the report was completed, the date they made there decision and if I had any concerns with in the report and the date the courier took it to the embassy.

I would have liked to know it was with my request there…. But they won’t confirm that bit

It says in the email:

"Please note that you have 30 days from today in which to resubmit your passport. If your passport is not received within this time your application will experience even further delays"

Yes, just the standard reply. "it is in processing and will be sent when completed"

Update:- Passport pick email received yesterday and picked up today however no visa issued. Wonder why the need to request passport in the first place They seem to be all over the place these days! The piece of paper received together my passport is the same as what I have got on my initial interview date. Ineligibility and unable to issue a visa.

Thank you for this forum at least it helped me vent off when needed! Good luck to you all!!

Will be considering to discuss this further with an immigration lawyer in the future as I still do not have a clue where my ineligibility came from . Once the current situation in US cools down!!

Hey Buzz, sorry to hear this, has anything changed since your last visa was issued, very odd they would go through the process of asking you to submit and send back your passport, but things are very strange these days. Apart from being nosey, I noted that I had an additional box ticked this time around, so suspect if they are clamping down I may well get a rejection this time around.

Worth dropping them an email to ask for further clarity? either way, all the best with future applications.

Thank you Lemonhead - nothing has changed since my last visa was issued - it's indeed very odd but knowing what is currently going on with the changes .. its hard to say why ! . I will see as my initial plan to travel last Christmas ... its a good thing I did not commit to anything US side or buy tickets etc

Good luck and all the very best !

What on earth?!?! Are you on the travellerspoint forum? Might be worth letting those guys over there know as I can't say I've ever seen that on either forum in the last 6 years. If they're rejecting waivers for those that have had them before, I'd hedge my bets I'll be in the same boat.

I'd also definitely be asking for clarification as to why a request for the passport was put in this month for it to be sent back with nothing?

Can see the whole process exceeding 15-18 months over the next 5 years and a lot of changes (which I half expected) to who gets approved.

I wonder with the recent comments on the travellerspoint forum, of those in the last month being told waivers of ineligibility were not being put forward, that they've included those that have been approved also?
