Hi.
Had my interview in London on 4/10/24 for a B1/B2 visa and was told I was inadmissible due to CMT but as my crimes were not serious and they occurred 30 years ago they were recommending a waiver. Also told I'm looking at up to 9 months wait, which I was kind of expecting. One question I wish I'd asked, if I was successful, how long are they likely to grant the waiver for? What do they usually grant for a first waiver?
Thanks

Out of interest for my own situation, were you an adult at the time of the offence? And also, did you take all details of the CMT offence with you to the interview?
Thanks in advance

I took a recent ACRO police certificate together with the covering letter and attached sheet that included details of the offences that been stepped down and not listed on my certificate (two offences, fines only).
They actually contacted me about a week before the interview asking me to send all that to them and grant them permission to contact ACRO on my behalf to verify the documents authenticity. I took it all with me on the day as well.
Once I got to the consulate and through the registration and fingerprinting stages the interview itself was very brief, they went through the paperwork, immediately told me I was inadmissible (expected) and that they were going to recommend I be issued a waiver and that was it.

Yes I was an adult, albeit a young one.

Thank you so much. Yes the holiday will be non refundable after this week but I'm going to have to pay and hope for the best! It is his second waiver but it doesn't seem to be any quicker than people getting their first.
As we have reached 9 months does anyone know the email address to enquire with them? It won't do any harm to ask will it? Although I know they don't like people enquiring....
Thanks again

The interview was 16th april 2024 so exactly 9 months now. Praying it won't be much longer until we hear as it takes up to a month to get passport back after you send it too.

Hello
I had my interview in August and was recommended for a waiver so I am guessing it will be a couple more months until hopefully they ask for my passport to give me the visa. My passport that I applied with will be expiring soon so I got a new passport. How do I go about it, do I send them both old and new passport, please help.

I am thinking that they will only attach the visa to the passport you applied with. This could be a problem for you. I would call the embassy and ask them. I think I read that this was an issue before, please look back in the forum. I did order a new passport before I started based on the feedback I read here. I really hope you can switch the visa to your new passport. I assume the details are in the D160 form or whatever it was called. I think I also read that some people carried their old passport with the new one to show the visa was valid. You will need to look back in the forum for that.
For the person asking for a contact email. I used Dublin so I have no idea what the London embassy one is.

Google is your friend. See https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/visa-...-contact-form/
The second of the two choices allows for inquiry. I do think it is a coincidence in the timing; but perhaps it was still sitting awaiting final processing (e.g. press the send button) and the inquiry prompted the actual e-mail.

Sorry, it must be old link. Check the chat history. I did email embassy in September, they told me no updates and I should wait for the DHS to process. I waited until Jan 2nd for the good news.

Hi All,
I was found eligible for a first waiver in April 2024, I’m expecting a response any day soon, the problem is I need to fly overseas at the end of the month. If someone gets accepted does anybody know how long you have to send off your passport to issue the visa?

if you look at the tracker sheet for the passport stuff it seems that it takes 15 to 21 days.
