Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Are the wavers normally issued for a year!? With the visa
If your waiver is granted, the visa you receive will normally be valid for 5 years.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
But I've heard cases, that some people, get granted a Waiver for 5 years
so I will still have to apply for a normal visa everytime once my visa, expires have an interview everytime have a police certificate within 6 months everytime ? |

If you need to renew a visa (because it is lost or has expired or whatever); you will need to get a new police certificate, new interview at the consulate, new wait for them to decide on your waiver etc etc Every. Single. Time. For the rest of your life. |

If their waiver is approved, it allows the consulate to issue a visa for upto 5 years. The waiver has no timeframe, it is simply permission for the consulate to issue the visa. |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
@materialcontroller so when I got to Consulate for the interview once my visa expires as long as my police, certificate as nothing more I should be just granted, a visa there and then if my Waivers still valid thanks for your advice it's appreciated

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi all, I got my email though yesterday. My appointment was November 13th, so I got this back in just over 3 months. I have a couple of concerns, 1st is do I need to use a certain courier to send my passport to them or can I just go down to the post office? 2nd is I have moved homes since my interview, there wasn’t an option to change address, does anyone know if there is a way to change the return to address. thanks |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
You can send you passport to the consultant via Special delivery the returning of your passport goes, to a designated DX box of your choice or you can pay £19 to have it delivered to a, designated address
ring the embassy 02074999000, regarding your address change I don't want to give you the wrong info good luck |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi all, got the passport back yesterday. Husband has been given a 5 year visa. Has anyone (with a waiver) had any issues getting past border control when landing in the US?

Like will they ask about the reasons for waiver? I've read some have been in for questioning when they've landed.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

i replied and got my email asking for passport two days later. |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
No they didn’t ask me at the interview, just told me that was the reason my visa was refused and that they would recommend me for a waiver as it was one offence from 30 years ago! |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
My husband got a call today asking for a statement that he does not take any drugs now and is a different man..
How long did you wait after you sent the statement until you got the "send passport" email? We leave on the 10th of April so I guess there is still time but I am so nervous that he will not get the waiver and maybe not in time |

It seems to take 2-3 weeks to get passport there and back so tight for you but certainly possible 🤞 |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Oh thanks I didn't notice.

No not yet - I sent my statement last Friday and had a reply from the embassy on Tuesday to say they had forwarded it to Washington and would contact me when they replied. |

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
So wanted to give an update if there are people reading who are still waiting and stressed (like I was!);
My husband was recommended for a waiver on the 10th of December On March 7th he received an email asking for a statement that he was not using drugs Today, March 12th he received an email saying his waiver was approved and asking him to bring the passport to the embassy! So total processing time was around 13 weeks, but we still have to wait for the passport to get back to us of course, which adds a few days.. Btw we were told that the processing time was 6-9 months! I am so happy that he will be able to join us on vacation!! and good luck to everyone still waiting answers :) |

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hello everyone I am new to this thread but hoping there is someone here who may be able to offer a little insight. I have gone back through the posts but as it started years ago I figure only the last 12 months timelines would be accurate. My husband was issued his B1 visa 10 months ago, we had to apply for a waiver for this due to an offence 25 years previous. His job situation has now changed so he applied for an L1 and L2s for myself and our children. All was ok until we went for our interview when we was given a slip of paper saying the visa is under administrative processing. The employee said this is because of the waiver. My question is as my husband already has the waiver approved will the process be quicker? I know you have to have a new waiver for each visa but last time it took so long because there was so much going backwards and forwards for information but now they have all the information will this speed the process up? From what I can see most people are applying for the first time so hoping someone can release and offer advice. Thanks in advance and good luck to all those playing the waiting game! |

Your husband's current application will take roughly the same length of time as everyone else that is applying now. |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
[QUOTE=materialcontroller;12652253]This question has already been answered in the other thread. It won't be any quicker. Every waiver application has to be sent to the ARO for a decision to be made. The waiting time, in general, reflects how busy the DHS is at any given time. It doesn't matter how complex or lengthy your individual case is; what matters is whereabouts you are in the queue of cases waiting at the ARO. Your husband's current application will take roughly the same length of time as everyone else that is applying now Yes it has but only by you and I was seeing if there was anyone else in the same position as there are a lot of people on this thread and only us and one more on the other. Is that ok? |
