Anyone else who is thinking of following this process. I am now on week 19, so be sure to plan ahead appropriately, it's possible processing times have slowed in the winter, or i could just be a one off. Heres hoping i don't get swept into the the 'No' bin on Christmas Eve when the ARO officer wants a clean desk after Christmas! :p
I am also fighting the urge to contact the consulate, as i know that they will ultimately just tell me to sit tight. Good luck to anyone else waiting and hoping to get cleared before Christmas!

Waste of time (as i knew it would be) and they replied very quickly telling me things are still under review. So we have missed thanksgiving, and now Christmas but maybe we can shoot for spring time!:fingerscrossed: Still beats a flat out denial! Happy New year to any other d(3) waiverers! |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Just checking in to see if you know anything yet, I think we have waited 19 weeks now ( app was 8th sep ) and still not heard a thing! Hope he gets the visa, need to start getting something booked if we can go.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
I did, i think it took about 21 weeks to get the email. I did update one of these threads, but obviously missed this one! Good luck and try not to worry.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
The Embassy in London is currently estimating 20 to 22 weeks for waiver applications.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Ok I will keep waiting patiently, what visa did you get? I'm glad you finally heard something.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
its a 1 year visa i can get through college, i was on a 5 month j1 already and got a social securtiy number through it, which is why i am puzzled as to why its taking so long

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi GinGino/all...Please let me know when you here from the Embassy.
I was originally expecting a decision after 14-16 weeks but it now appears the time frames have changed and the wait time is longer than 22 weeks. It is going to be my 19th week tomorrow. |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi Gino Gino
My step daughter attended an interview on the 13th September and we still haven't heard anything. This is her 2nd application as we went to Florida last Feb, but that application took less than 12 weeks start to finish. We are now coming up for 23 weeks tomorrow. Will be watching this thread to see when yours arrives, please let us know :) |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
I will definitely keep you all informed, it was 24 weeks yesterday and still nothing!!
|
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Mine's been 29 weeks and still waiting...!
|
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
It would seem turnaround times are getting worse, i wonder if this is because more people are aware of the d3 waiver, (especially given that they are all adjudicated centrally) or that less resource is being expended on them by the Admissibility Review Office?
|
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Oh no, 29 weeks?? that is not good news, I can't believe they are taking so long, it was never this bad previously. That definitely rules out my step daughter coming with us as we are due to go before her 29 weeks will be up - Has any one else received a visa lately before 29 weeks?? :(

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
The most frustrating thing is we don't have any idea how long it will be - the million dollar question I guess! We are 'under review' as of this week but what does that actually mean?

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Am I right in thinking that these are done i batches? as looking at some of these forums several people received theirs at the same time, yet attended at different times. I'm just clutching at straws and hoping that there is hope that we may all be under review :)

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Could you not look onto postponing your holiday? At least you know they will say yes to you if it's the second waiver you have applied for, we haven't booked anything yet but not sure that it will even be a yes!
Good luck x |
Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Hi, looked into postponing her and her fiances' flights today, the cost was almost as much as buying two new flights, I know it's not wise now to buy flights but on past experience we thought six months notice was more than enough time. Fingers crossed for you to, I look forward to your post saying that your visa has been approved:)

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
I know how you feel, the embassy told my husband 3 weeks!!!! I know that they are advised to just say a random time to people but it is disheartening when the weeks tick by and you hear nothing, even if you had some way of tracking it you could feel better. The reason we did it so early was because we were expecting a medical as well but they didn't mention that this time.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Can anyone offer advise on my circumstances. My wife and I have been resident in the US for the past 8 years on an E2 and returned to London recently to renew the visa for the second time. Everything was fine for our company and my wife's visa but mine was denied based on a DUI conviction in Florida in May 2011. They have advised that a waiver of ineligibility is possible in the future but have not indicated timescales, procedures etc. Meanwhile my wife has returned to Florida to continue running our business on her own while I am stuck in the UK. Does anyone have any experience or advice on this please? Thanks

I don't think this is an insurmountable problem, but it's going to take time. Ian |

It's time to get an experienced immigration lawyer involved... one who has specific experience (and success) with waivers of ineligibility. This is not a DIY project.

You may just have to apply again once the issue has been resolved and a USPHS doctor confirms that you are no longer likely to be a danger to yourself or others. |
