Automation is here but no one is enjoying the benefits of it except the fat cats who are saving bags of money by not having to employ workers. No trickle down coming either.

People need jobs and the dignity of supporting themselves and families through personal endeavor. They weren't made to sit around living on handouts from government and confined in their pastimes because they cant afford it.

It's a no brainer that with an increasing population and little or no work that Armageddon in some shape or form will result

The same happened with servants with the advent of things like washing machines and dishwashers. Chimney sweeps are in in much demand these days in the UK since the advent of gas heating. My father was in a medium skilled job, Draughtsman which paid quite good money. That job disappeared a long time ago with the advent of CAD software.

The job market is continually changing and you either evolve of get left behind.

One solution is the Universal Basic/Living wage, but this will never happen when the 1% can profit at other people's expense.

But are there enough new jobs being created to replace those that have become obsolete and with pay that allows a person to enjoy a decent standard of living? I don't think there are and as well paying jobs continue to disappear with nothing worthwhile to replace them then more and more people end up on the scrap heap creating a dangerous situation for the future.

The anger is already there and likely to increase. This last election was evidence of that

The historical solution to this has been to have a war.

Maybe they have the solution in the UK to compete with cheap labor.

'SWEATSHOP' BRITAIN Workers in UK making clothes for River Island and New Look ‘paid £3-an-hour to compete with Bangladesh’

I'm not a fan of the Sun, but they have a paywall free version of the story.

The problems faced by women in the US and UK are hardly in the same league.
So how much equality is good enough for the average US woman? 60%? 70%? What should she settle for?

So women have to be chattel before they can complain? Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately in your mind, chattel actually can't complain, they might get killed for it.

How do you feel about pussy-grabbing in your family? No problem?

We have just seen an executive order that is threatening reproductive health access to women in many parts of the world. Women marching in the USA and women's rights in developing nations are not divergent.
But really dismissing marching against a man who claimed to have committed serial sexual assault and the threat to womens health, that he is already proving to be true, as being a first world issue, is jaw dropping.

There are sweatshops like that in LA, It's probably illegal to pay below the minimum wage but whose going to blow the whistle since the people employed there are also illegal.

Trump's move in cancelling the Pacific Trade Pact has just handed the whole of Asia to China on a silver platter and Australia and New Zealand will also go with China. It's not hard to imagine the Chinese telling the rest of the countries in that region that America cannot be trusted and to throw in their lot with Beijing. Brilliant opening move Donald.

Isolationist America, Europe moving towards right wing nationalism, Putin waiting on the sidelines to make the right moves and China dominating the whole of South east Asia......perfect scenario for another great big bloody war and this time it really will be the war to end all wars.

Today the bbc.çom/news has a story related to the aftermath of the women's marches which states unambiguously "Women's marches took place in many cities around the world to protest about Donald Trump becoming US President."

Perhaps you should get in touch with the BBC to straighten them out because it is embarrassing that one of the world's most widely respected news sources still has the wrong end of the stick!

I don't think China will bow down to Trump. I'm sure this will be a shock to Trump that someone does not does as he says. He is not everyone's boss.

Again, why would protesting "Donald Trump becoming US President" be "anti-US"?

Well he is the US President, but a more interesting question, in the light of your post yesterday, is whether these protests were for "women's rights" and planned ahead of the election, or "against Donald Trump". You can't have it both ways!
