Can't even begin to tell you how ironic all of what you just wrote actually is...

Does this mean the Freemasons aren't gossiping about you after all? How disappointing.

You really can't see it can you?! You didn't get anybody 'stirred up', not one person on the thread took you seriously. It was just a great excuse for a good old bit of British banter and piss taking.

You however, clearly are taking it seriously as you've even resorted to swearing now. Living up to the uncouth American stereotype eh?

And even more amusingly, to use my previous analogy, it seems that your tantrum has now reached the advanced stages and you've thrown yourself on the floor and are thrashing your arms around. Shame that those parents are still ignoring you and talking amongst themselves about bacon and irony isn't it? Ah well.

Seriously, though, this is unfair on us UK Yankee types. Knowing what I now know, I wish I'd stayed up till four in the morning instead of foolishly going to bed at ten pm.

Which brings me to another point. Do actual Americans ever actually say "stateside?" I'd always thought that was something proud new immigrants said ..

First I'm impressed you went back 47 posts for a partial quote.
I think the term 'stateside' began to die off after WW2, though fairly common until the 1960's.
I believe it could slip into a conversation if I were overseas talking to an American.

It is. And I don't get to hear it anywhere often enough. It's southern Georgia with a hint of Arkansas thrown in.

My sister is a west coast (California) expat living in Georgia. She hasn't picked up the accent, too close to Atlanta I guess. She was a foreign exchange student to Scotland in 1974 for just under a year, came back with a very noticeable accent, even had a boyfriend named Angus
She lost that accent very soon.
