I LOVE root beer. They used to carry it in McDonalds in the UK in the early 90s but stopped it for some reason. That's really why I moved over here - root beer and pumpkin flavoured ice cream.

I used to work with someone who went to another city every week and he'd bring me back root beer from the Asda, there as some of the larger stores stock it currently in the UK. I believe some larger Sainsburys do as well and Waitrose carry an expensive Australian root beer.

Ah, Moxie. I'd like to try that stuff but I don't think I can buy it so far south of its home state of Maine.

Thats what I thought too, I couldn't bring myself to drink the stuff. It's the smell that stops me.

Don't know if you have Stop and Shop grocery stores, but they usually have it stashed somewhere random.

The Moxie festival is a little surreal though I've got to say

Ah so I wasn't the only one drinking it in McDonalds in the UK then.

Ha! You just reminded me that I fell in love with a soft drink in New Zealand - I think it was called L&P or something like that? I wonder if I could find it for sale somewhere here.

Ah - here it is! And for $3.95/bottle + shipping I can order it from NZ ... must find something more local.

It is SO not minging - it's excellent! The ice cream gets a bit crunchy when the root beer is chilled. Great treat for a summer day ... or anytime really.

(I can't believe I just typed the word "minging")

If the root beer is not cold a root beer float will fizz all over the place.

Try orange sherbet, vanilla ice cream and sprite mixed like a shake, much better!

Yep, root beer smells like germolene and makes me want to puke without adding anything to it.
