The Pillars of the Earth
It's a 8 part series based on the Ken Follett book...which is an awesome read.
They did a double episode last week and the third episode was lastnight, well worth catching as it's not a bad adaptation, also quite a good mix of people in the cast, a lot you'll recognise, the chap from Spooks, and a bunch of other shows.

Quick heads up for those with Netflix. This is on the instant service at the moment. Waiting for the missus to get home from visiting the family before watching it. Loved the book.

Rubicon, Sunday nights on ABC. Watched the first two episodes, which (as Gene Hunt might say) were about as fast paced as a spastic in a magnet factory. Not as slow as a Canadian show, but almost.
Haven't cancelled the season pass, yet, but our attention span is on life support...

Covert Affairs.
So anyone been watching that? It's after White Collar. Not got around to it myself but it sounded like it might be interesting.
Dark Blue - That's back for a second series, about a bunch of under cover cops, it was alright but very formulaic.

Jacked in Dark Blue midway through the first season and haven't bothered going back. As you say, very formulaic and, while that can go well with fun, it doesn't go so well with grim.

This is Not Your Life
It's a new Kiwi Show, a few episodes in. If you catch the d/loads, worth a shot, rather surreal and very dry but kind of good. This bloke wakes up without memory, then realises he had another life before being this person and weird and spooky stuff happens.

Finding out that the lead character in series I've caught on reruns-Moonlight (it was cancelled) is from OZ. I tell you what's the truth these guys pop up everywhere.

"Terriers"
The pilot was on FX last night.....loved it!
About an unlicensed detective duo. Funny and good characters....plus a really cute Bulldog!
(One of the writers was a writer on "The Sheild")

Anyone catch Hellcats? Sounds like rubbish cheese, cheerleader wannabe to get scholarship after finding out she's broke.
Nikita, remake of the Canadian tv series, of a remake of a remake....all very weird, but that's starting tonight. don't think it'll be much good, but I'll try and catch it on the dvr.

I certainly find Americans in general have some strange ideas about life in the UK if they've never been. I've been asked what my family's coat of arms is, if it really rains 300 days a year and whether I find it strange not stopping for afternoon tea at 3pm, amongst many other things
TV wise I've really not found much lately, SyFy did a decent version of Alice earlier this year (or maybe last?), I just watched Battle Star Galactica which is excellent and Dr Who is an addiction for me. Apart from that I tend to just watch the Daily Show and stuff like that for a good giggle. I'm also embarassed to admit I quite enjoy Glee
As someone who was at the centre of my school's music department as a student and have been involved in school productions more recently as a teacher department it is eerily familiar despite it's ludicrousness. It's a bit like Spinal Tap like that, it seems ridiculous until you've experienced the real thing and realised that real life is often even barmier!

Students? Some of them looked like they could be cashing in their OAP cheques...that was a load of crap.
Nikita, that on the other hand has potential for a bit of fun cheese, we'll see.
So basically the main character has escaped and trying to uncover who has taken over the organisation for dodgy uses, all while a new recruit has been taken on board, who is actually a mole, kind of.
Give it a few episodes at least.

Told the Tivo to grab that - we'll give it a look.
Yes, it wasn't bad.
Did anybody stick with Rubicon? I gave up.

Also Eureka has been picked up for a 5th series....it's still okay, but I'm not so sure about the show reboot with the new style.

Saturday late afternoons seem to be a black hole on TV. Found an old Christmas present, The Adams Chronicles (not to be confused with the John Adams that was on HBO) filmed in 1976 for the Bicentennial. So far I've only watched 4 episodes (there are 13). It traces the family for 150 years. John Houseman has a brief appearance in it, playing the irascible old man that he did so well in the Paper Chase.
