Seems a bunch of new shows started over the weekend, lot of period dramas.

Anyone seen Salem?

My husband is sticking with it, gawd knows why, it really is appalling.

No thanks...I thought the film was crap. When films are turned into a TV series it's usually even worse.

Really, really enjoying this. Billy Bob is fantastic, he appears very sinister. Liking Martin Freeman in it too, once I got past the accent.

It's one of the very few shows I am looking forward to watching.

Agree with N1cky, Fargo is actually one to watch.
Hearing Martin Freeman with that weird accent (I'm moving there in 2 weeks) is slightly odd but he does it well.

It's funny that I recognise most of the places they are as well. :)

Black Box

It's about a brain surgeon with who is bi-polar and it's flipping between when she's on her meds or not.

It's actually really as shit as it sounds.

The characters are all annoying and people you want to hit with a shovel.

Barely made it through the first episode, won't be bothering with this one.

This isn't to bad, but it's a lot more fantasy type drama than factual drama which is a bit of a let down.

Seems to have been done to death and basically Grim, set in the witch trials era.

We'll see how it pans out, but it's worth a couple episodes to see.

Those of us on the forum for descendants of the accused are not amused with the way they have ignored facts and Hollywooded it beyond believeability. :frown::frown::frown:

Whose going to be watching 24 tonight then?

Really looking forward to this being back, hope they haven't made it really shit. Only 12 episodes this time, and apparently the time is going to skip some hours, so that will be a bit strange, kind of makes the title meaningless.

The trailer looked like an episode of 'Frost'.

 I wish.

Frost was filmed in my home city, Wakefield, so always makes me nostalgic though.

I gave up on 24 a few seasons ago, however watched this due to the location. Still the same appalling plot and script. Pleasantly surprised by Stephen Fry as the PM, distracted by the apparent filming in Sun Hill and expecting Reg Hollis to turn up any minute to investigate reports of Americans firing guns everywhere.

And the US President just randomly deciding to "address parliament" while he's in the area? Is parliament in session - and which house? Presumably House of Commons by the assumption that the "seasoned legislators" would rip him apart.

I know it's just a telly programme, but things like this distract me and wind me up so much I give up watching....

Revolutionary drama...sounds interesting.

Finally got around to watching it and for a AMC drama, it's pretty good we thought.

It's about the first spy ring being set up but the first episode was a little slow as it introduces the characters but certainly worth a punt.

Gang Related

Bit cheesy but fun enough daft bit of cop action.

Story line is stupid though. Kid in a gangland area becomes a bent cop and after something happens, someone gets suspicious that there might be a bent cop.

Off on a bit of a naff back story they go.

Apart from that, not entirely terrible though....but it probably won't last long.

Penny Dreadful - I like it a lot. Love the horror kind of genre though and this fits in. Thank goodness it's been renewed.

Fargo - enjoying this one too. Martin Freeman is great as is Billy Bob. I've been told that it's similar to Breaking Bad which I have not seen. Great dry sense of humour.

Finally - Rake - the original Australian version. This was bloody hilarious - they are doing repeats on AUD channel. I cannot stress enough how bloody brilliant this show is. Try and see if you can. Adults only.
