Lillyhammer, weirdest show I have ever seen.

Does Netflix aspire to be the next HBO? Only in their wildest dreams I would say.

I think Lillyhammer had HBO like pretensions in its script, but it was like a third rate HBO script.

A bit of an old one, but I never saw "The Wire". Everyone raves about it, but what separates it from the regular cops and robbers shows like Law and Order and CSI.

Not sure if it is worth giving it a go. Should I start?

Another oldie, I just started watching "Oz" its great, from the first episode, hard to watch but very involving.

I picked The Wire up last year after hearing so many people raving about it. I enjoyed it...but it started to fizzle out towards the last series. I only watched the first couple of episodes in the last series.

After The Sopranos, The Wire is my 2nd favorite HBO show. It is utterly brilliant and entertaining. So far, I have seen it 3 times. Can't explain why it is good, watch the pilot and come to your own conclusions.

I'm surprised you didn't enjoy the final series of The Wire. I totally loved the Baltimore Sun arc.

Some Internet providers cap how much data you can download in a month. Our local monopoly limits its customers to 100Gb per month.

That is really low. I go over that consistently pretty much every month. The Comcast allowance is 250gb, which I thought might be an issue. However despite hammering my connection every month streaming and downloading HD video I have never come close to hitting it.

It's horrible, isn't it? Their original proposal was for a 30Gb monthly limit. Their argument was that 95% of their customers used less than 5Gb per month. Considering most folk around here have the technical know-how of a dead mackeral, that's hardly surprising.
Their other trick was to buy the CBS affiliate and turn the transmitter power down to the legal minimum of 25 watts. That's right, less than a respectable light bulb.

Back to telly stuff. On the cancellation front, CSI:Miami has finally been put out of it's misery. The sunglass wearing leprechaun is history - yeeeaaaaahhhhh!!!!

Anyone watching Game of Thrones? I just started watching it yesterday and it seems pretty good.

If you were to ask somebody that question verbally, would you shout the part you embolden on here?

Good to know. Do you have a favorite character? So far, I'm relating to the vulnerability of Daenerys.
