I gave up after the first episode as rather boring...but it might be worth giving a little longer, just happened to have had plenty of other stuff to catch up on with instead.

I heard elsewhere that the pilot was really slow and then it gets going in the following episodes with plenty of sex and violence which should go down well in my household. I'm hoping it's going to be as fun - and historically inaccurate - as Rome and the Tudors. Pillars of the Earth is worth watching if anyone managed not to catch that. It's on Netflix and Amazon.
Saw the first episode of Game of Thrones and there was Sean Bean, incest and a dwarf cavorting with a bunch of hookers - gotta download the rest at some point!

So what are your thoughts on the new batch of shows?
There's that Teen Wolf, which sounds crap...there's the ABC switched at birth show which sounds crap and then they have the one next week about a chick who has 9 lives after dying? Also sounds pretty crap.
Must be something worth watching?
The Gate seems to have not been continued, which is a bit of a shame.
Dan for Mayor and Hiccups, Canadian comedies have both just started second series, they've kind of fun and silly.

I have a few things lined up to record;
"Franklin & Bash" on TNT - another lawyer show. Started on 1/6/2011.
"Falling Skies" - an alien invasion show also on TNT. It starts 19/6/2011.
The next one is either called "Suits" or "A Legal Mind" depending on what source you read. It's yet more lawyers and is on USA. Starts on 23/6/2011
Then there's "Wilfred" - a sitcom about some guy who sees the neighbours dog as a man in a cheap dog suit. Sound weird. It will probably suck. It's on FX and starts on 23/6/2011.
Aphas - a team of ordinary citizens whose brain anomalies imbue them with extraordinary mental and physical abilities. Starts on Syfy - 11/7/2011.
There's some programmes making a welcome return (for me at least);
Burn Notice on USA - 23/6/2011.
Leverage on TNT - 26/6/2011.
Weeds on Showtime - 27/6/2011.
Torchwood on Starz / BBC3 - 8/7/2011.
Eureka on SyFy - 11/7/2011.
Breaking Bad on AMC - 17/7/2011.
Of all this lot, i'm probably looking forward to Torchwood the most. The first two series were fairly useless but I thought the "Children of Earth" mini-series was something a bit special. This one is a BBC Wales / Starz co-production which could turn out to be interesting. Here's hoping.

Franklin and Bash...that didn't look very promising I thought, so wondering how that went?
Not to excited by any of the new offerings so far...
Happy to see Burn Notice return, got weird but I still liked it...and Breaking Bad is great.
Used to love Eureka, but that last series really put me off.

Franklin and Bash seemed to me like a very poorly made programme. I thought they spent too much time trying to cram in all the players rather than scpripting anything clever like I have seen in other programmes.
Game of Thrones.. has lost its way just a bit. The basic premise is ok but I found that some of the more explicit scenes just seem to be thrown in to try and shock. I have no problem with sex in programmes and dont care how explicit it is ... but at least make an attempt to weave it into the script.

Rome, Deadwood, Sopranos, Spartacus all seem to have the need to throw in at least a few blow jobs, just because they can.

I love the shows I mentioned and I love Game of Thrones. However, I do feel a bit insulted that the producers seem to think I will only watch if there is a bit of rumpy pumpy every now and then.

Although he hasn't mentioned beastiality yet.
