I've never heard of this political party before, but they must be taken seriously; they own a van!

A lot of folks in the States would like to do the same thing - Texas and Florida, for example. Then, of course, there's Catalaunia and Venice.

Well...if the Scots can have a parliament of their very own, why not the English, the Welsh, the Cornish, Yorkshiremen, Manxmen and Ulstermen? Devolution gone crazy.

In this country, the fault lines run in many directions, usually along red-blue state lines; and with alternating hard left and hard right governments, the center is shrinking and centrifugal forces are building steadily. Should the Democrats succeed in adding millions of currently illegal aliens to the voting rolls and thus give themselves a permanent governing majority, the country will almost certainly break up. But that is off the OP's topic.

Re: the Scottish independence issue
Of course you are correct. There is also the Northern Ireland Assembly and the National Assembly for Wales. I was imagining each of the mentioned areas as having fully sovereign power, similar to an independent Scotland, should that happen.
