Thanks I was quite capable of reading Ian's comment. I take comments in the context of the conversation they are made in, seems a common sense thing to do. But hey if you think applying for visas for travel to another country, is the same as renewing a UK passport be my guest. As most of us got here by giving the US Embassy our UK passports to have a visa put in it, I think we can understand the difference, and read this thread accordingly.

I agree with you FWIW. Ian made an absolute statement that was unwarranted, and should have been prefixed with "Under the circumstances..... ", which would have been clearer, er, ..... under the circumstances.

I will be in UK for 6 weeks. Going to renew British passport whilst there. It's a lot cheaper than doing it in US.
