when you get an email from your bank telling you that there is an important message regarding your credit card and to log on to your account using the link. Looked totally legit so I did......
Luckily I realised and called fraud prevention immediately but it took over an hour to secure the accounts, change passwords etc. bastards,.

One reason I won't fly Air Canada, or any airline that charges for assigned seating.

That is how Delta and Alaska get me to fly them, still offer free assigned seating. At least on flights within the US and from Canada.

I think West crap also charges for assigned seats in advance.

I don't know if it strictly counts as 'international' but I had to pay for my seats on Air Canada last month, one of which was right at the back. It was worth it though, since two flights were 100% full, so I was glad I chose the seats I wanted in advance.

I kind of had no choice for the flights I wanted, if I wanted to keep the price under $600.00, unfortunately. It was either pay the $45.00 to assign my seats in advance, or take my chances I'll get stuck in the middle seat of a 3-3 cofiguration (I prefer the aisle for flights longer than 2 hours for bathroom purposes).

Weird thing was, as part of the cost saving, I had WestJet on the way back and they didn't let me select seats. I got lucky at check in, though.

If there was no other choice, I would likely do the same. Can't risk a middle seat or a window on a long flight.

I only go window seat on short flights.

Yeah, for the hops I took a window seat, but for the Toronto-Edmonton leg on the way out I grabbed the aisle. Took a gamble on the way back though and took a window seat for Calgary-O'Hare. Managed to sleep on the plane though so it wasn't really an issue. Was the best piss of my life once I was in the terminal, though.

I fly Air Canada Ottawa to London frequently, and always select an aisle seat at the back, easy to get to the toilet with no trolley in the way. However, downside is, on the Ottawa to London night flight, no chance of napping or sleeping because nowhere to prop your head - my wife swears by the window seat, gives you a place to wedge your head against the window.

So this time I took a window seat at the back. My seat companion was a very large lady from Africa. She spoke little or no English or French, and she was dressed in a massive black bombazine and crinoline assemblage that looked as if she'd come straight from a Victorian funeral.

She also slept ostentatiously almost the whole flight. First time I wanted to get up, I started to ask her ... she furiously gestured something like.. "You want to get out? Climb over me." So each time I got in or out I awkwardly had to climb over her overdressed recumbent form....
