I don't like the way Americans say the word soldering. Though technically it sounds closer to the french word from which it is derived, "soddering" just sounds wrong to me.

The 1986 amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 outlawed the use of solder with lead in it for use in plumbing. Now it contains some combination of tin, antimony, silver, copper, and bismuth.
