Any tips for potty training. We have checked out the potty training kit from out local library.
My poor kid just sits on the pot until something comes out. Sometimes this takes quite a while. Other times he just can't be bothered and doesn't get upset or distressed when he pisses his pants. A little piece of chocolate every time she went in the can. Then she only gets the treat if she tells us she needs to go and goes in the can. Then she only gets it when she goes in the can, flushes the handle and pulls her pants up etc. Took a while to get there but now she's happy to perform the entire operation all by herself. |

Same for me. Offer me chocolate and I'll guarantee that I'll never pee on your floor. |

Hmmm, I did say 'chocolate', solidified vomit with colouring is a totally different matter... ;) |

Is it only Hershey's that tastes like shit, or is it American chocolate in general? (Just thought--M&M's are ok, and I'm guessing they're American.)

Kitkat's in the US aren't that great either! (I have retrained my US family who now make that great Southern 'dish', s'mores, with Green and Blacks  ) |

FWIW, I actually like the Kit Kats out here. Some places also do a version of Kit Kat Chunky too, which is lovely. |

Butyric acid, and it's by design. Something about dodgy butter during the war, if memory doesn't deal me a dog turd. I guess the American palate adapted to the taste.

Butyric acid (from Greek βοÏτῡÏον, meaning "butter"), also known under the systematic name butanoic acid, abbreviated BTA,[5] is a carboxylic acid with the structural formula CH3CH2CH2-COOH. Salts and esters of butyric acid are known as butyrates or butanoates. Butyric acid is found in milk, especially goat, sheep and buffalo milk, butter, parmesan cheese, and as a product of anaerobic fermentation (including in the colon and as body odor). It has an unpleasant smell and acrid taste, with a sweetish aftertaste (similar to ether). It can be detected by mammals with good scent detection abilities (such as dogs) at 10 parts per billion, whereas humans can detect it in concentrations above 10 parts per million. Butyric acid is present in, and is the main distinctive smell of, human vomit. From Wikipedia Which also explains Parmesan. I wish I hadn't looked it up now... |
