Ah, you've reminded me of another pet peeve - my wife's handbag. Specifically when I'm asked to find something in, what can only be described as a bottomless pit filled with useless crap, old receipts and invariably not the thing I was commissioned to find. That's usually sitting on the kitchen table ...

My MIL doesn't have a cell phone and has virtually stopped answering the house phone because 'it will be someone trying to sell insurance'.

I understand that all those people seem to have to identify with something, rather than just being proud to just be an American, and letting it go.
If you understand, you'd realise there's nothing to be gained by dividing a country into a nation of subcultures. All it does is breed unrest.
You have a nice day too.

People who leave stuff in their pockets, and their underwear inside their jeans/trousers with one leg of said trousers inside out, when I go to wash them.

Never, I mean never, accept the invitation to "look for it in my handbag", from any woman. Womens handbags should be off limits to any sensible male.

Absolutely. My husband would never dare look in my handbag...ever.

If you're talking about your OH, then it's time he learned to do his own laundry. If you're talking about a kid, then forget it, that's going to keep happening.

I learned that from my Dad... "never look inside a womans handbag, nothing good will ever come from that". He's right, he never goes into my Mum's handbag for anything.

For the sake of a quiet life, and when SWMBO happens to have a squirming toddler with a dirty arse that needs wiping, I'll go along with it. Most of the time it's only to find her phone anyway.

The contents are irrelevant, I'm not scared of a bunch of old receipts and emergency fanny pads. It's the disorganisation that I don't like

Is that a 'decree from on high', or is he just a big chicken?
