Cyclists deserve all they get anyhow.

Bunch of dirty, tree hugging commies.

Nah, they're Dutch, or some other kind of foreign. Poor sods don't even have engines on their two-wheeled contraptions ...

Actually, I quite enjoy riding my bike, but I take it along the bike path and to the trail system, so I don't even have to worry about cars except for two road crossings and on my street, which is quieter than the Society for Mute Dead Churchmice annual who's the quietest competition.

My son's got quite into it all, it's more bike-friendly where he is.

The people who bike around here look superhuman as they get up the hills in this heat.

My son enjoys it, too. Our town is really very quiet though, there are two somewhat 'main' roads running parallel either end of our street but both have either a bike path or a sidewalk almost their entire length. The side streets, bar one, are really quiet.

You don't hit a busy road until you get to US-12 which is a mile and a bit from our house and even then there are lots of crossings.

Even worse, they hate America and are trying to destroy it.

It's great for the kids to be able to get about.

The one the missus fancies is $80 on sale, so that'll do...I kind of fancied doing some hill climbing and trails, and those walmart jobbies just aren't going to last on that kind of simple abuse. Still, craigslist and the local bike shop for second hand I think will be the way to go for that.

That's where I got my basic (non-fancy) bike too. $119.00 on special. The only thing about the Walmart bike was that my son had to put it together--which was a bit of a job.... But I love it.
