I had a gig on Saturday night that was a 120 mile round trip, so I was able to do a combination of village streets, back roads, 'A-road' and interstate driving. Very pleasant all round, it really is a nice place to be in that car. The higher trim fittings are nice because my old car was a base model.

The engine has decent pick-up for a 1.4 (it has a turbo though), goes quite nicely when you give it the beans.

The best thing from my two drives into work so far this week, has been windscreen wipers that work

Sounds like it is going to work for you. It's nice when you are driving something where everything works.

I didn't realize it had a turbo... Do you get much of a feeling when it kicks in? When the turbos on my mini spin up I get a real kick in the pants from it.
Wipers are a bit of a plus. Did you know it had those when you bought it?
Decent sounding stereo hopefully... Bit of Dave Gilmore on the way to the gig.

I just hadn't got around to buying new wiper blades on the old one (good thing in the end), so it was a pleasant surprise to be able to see out of my front window in the rain ...

Yeah, it has a turbo, the LT has a 1.4 turbo engine compared to the 1.8 NA one in the base. Not much of a feeling when it kicks in but the engine does make a pleasant noise.

The stereo does sound decent (though I have to spend a bit of time and dial in a nice EQ eventually) but I had some Mike Oldfield on on the way to the gig

That is one of my chosen establishments.
My latest peeve concerned CVS.

It's the dead eyes of the checkout person that gets me. No spark of interest...

Like zombies.

(That and the garishly tattooed arms, and eyes too wide apart, of the young "lady" serving me.)

CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens are dreadful...one extremely slow cashier...about a dozen customers waiting on line. Every store I've been into is the same.

Oh yeah CVS is dreadful. They used to keep changing the queuing system, so sometimes you all waited in one line, but sometimes went to individual cashiers - nobody knew what to do and lots of shouting about cutting etc. Pharmacy appalling, so rude. Never go there now.

I went in to the local CVS last night, to get British passport photos, only to be told that they wouldn't do them because I was wearing a white shirt. I don't see anything in the regs for US or British passports about not wearing a white shirt, but the woman insisted "they" don't accept photos taken with a white shirt, and told me to come back wearing a colored shirt.

Today I looked for another, any other, pharmacy that I pass on the way home, but none was anywhere near as convenient as that CVS, so I went back in this evening, wearing a light blue shirt. There was a different woman at the photo desk today. As she approached she muttered something about a white shirt. "I'm sorry?" I said ..... "Your shirt is too close to white for a passport photo. Do you have another shirt in your car you can change into?" WTF! Who the hëll carries a spare shirt with them?

I told her I was sent away last night for wearing a white shirt, so I had come back wearing a blue shirt, and anyway I didn't even need the photos for an American passport! ...... I left. I will not be going back!

Can't argue with any of those, but add Hobby Lobby to the list. Their checkouts look like they were used when a certain Noah chap bought a lorry load of lolly sticks....and most of the operators probably remember him!

Just checked my last (expired)UK passport photo...white collared shirt, rather dubious black blue and green flowery tie. Maybe the rules have changed since then.....taken when we lived in Singapore, where it was so sweaty that I did actually always have a spare shirt at the office, and another in the car, and frequently used them, sometimes both replacements in the same day

How on earth would someone working in a CVS store know anything about the specifications of the photos required for a UK passport?
