pet peeve is still no double cream, I can find substitutes for just about everything else or make my own but not for double cream, it's frustrating because that 35% heavy cream is like air and does not compare.......peeve over.

edit, it is possible to let unadulterated 100% heavy cream sit for a couple of weeks and let the fat rise and scoop off, it can be almost like butter by that point but it's pretty nice on scones, but a bit tasteless for some reason.

Because they're a PITA to clean the drain and clog up easily in comparison.

My peeve of the day is inputting time on a iOS calendar. I want to type it in, not have to spin that shitty wheel for ages till it gets to the half hour...and when I've been inputting various events that all begin on the half hour but end on the hour, it would be nice if you picked up on the trend after a couple of goes.

POS.

It not the tech. per see, it is the faucet being too close to the basin wall , such that my hands will touch the basin when trying to wash them. Same is true for certain manual faucets.

I never touch the door handles with my bare hands, always use a paper towel to open or close

Me too! ..... And apparently many of my colleagues do as there is an additional bin (apart from the one that is integral to the towel dispenser) placed next to the door, and it is always full to overflowing.

Me? .... Rarely, I am just about over the worst stinking head cold I have had in so many years I don't remember the last time I had one this bad, maybe 4-5 years? When I lived in London I used to get them continuously for at least six months of the year during the winter, and sporadically during the summer too.

I don't want to cause you undue concern here, but have you considered that the water itself isn't exactly free of germs ...

My eldest is a bit of a germaphobe too. He does the whole contortion act trying to open the door with a paper towel, then hold it with his knee while trying to hit the trash can with the paper towel. Heaven forbid he misses, because being a Boy Scout, he takes Leave No Trace seriously (apart from when he's peeing in his own bathroom at home) so has to go pick it up and start all over again

A couple of weeks back he came back from the toilet all excited...Dad, Dad, come see what I found in the toilet...somewhat nervously I followed him back and he showed me, as proudly as if he'd invented it himself, a sign etched into the door plate/handle proudly proclaiming that the handle was made of a specially treated metal that rendered it germ free. Forever. I have no idea if that is even possible, but it satisfied my first born!

I was trying to sign up for something online on my iPad today. It included an inset window with t&c that you had to scroll to the bottom of before you could agree to. Try as I might, I couldn't get the inset window to swipe/scroll instead of the whole page, which meant I couldn't agree to the t&c. Ended up having to go to my old reliable laptop and re-enter all the info...
