Pet Peeves?

I agree! But at least I can tilt the rear-view mirror to dim the ones behind me. Having them come at me is even worse. They've contributed to my refusal to drive some undivided highways late at night.

I know this has been covered somewhere before, but i need to vent a little. Today is my son's 6th birthday party. How hard is it to rsvp when you've been given a months notice? Out of 20 kindergartners only 5 have bothered to let me know if they're coming or not. Grrr

Or here in SoCal...where people will tell you in advance that yes they are coming to your party but let you know they can't make it after the party has started.

So annoying and not to mention rude... I had two people show up that I never knew were coming and I didn't have enough goodie bags at the end. Felt like a plonked running out.

I'm getting very pissed off with BevMo, the wine and liquor store.
We spend thousands there each year on wine and fine spirits.
For a few years I've been trying their bourbons, and have bought some from their locked up cabinet.
However their "policy" requires the assistant to walk the bottle to the front of the store and not allow the actual customer to do so...just because, they say, some people might try to steal it.
I find this infuriating and insulting and I gave them a good telling off in the shop this morning, pointing out that there are other places to shop.
"But we do this because this is the policy."
"Why is it the policy?"
"Because it's in the policy book"
"Can you make exemptions for a high value customer?"
"That's not our policy."

You could, very pointedly say to those people, "you never told me if you were coming or not", and explained what RSVP means. You are right, it is very rude not to say one way or the other.

Me too--that bl$$dy dazzle right in the eyes is terrible! I'd love to give up driving at night.

Doh! Shop elsewhere is the easy answer rather than griping about a petty little issue (on here) that offends your precious sensibilities and sense of importance.

He/she is absolutely right-policy is policy and that is what happens. Why do you think that you
are so special that you can override the store policy?
