Re: Netflix
I watched "Queen of Versailles" streamed on Netflicks
Its a documentary about a couple building the largest single residential home in the US before the cash crisis hit.
Beautifully tragic and horrifying all at the same time.

Re: Netflix
We're re-watching Sports Night. I had forgotten how good this how is!
If you don't know, it's one of Aaron Sorkin's first. It was classed as a comedy, but that really is a misnoma. It's a drama with funny lines in it - and it would have lasted a lot longer if it was pitched like that - hour-long episodes instead of the 'sitcom' 30-minute format.

Always a good time to watch Sagans' Cosmos!
And for a look at a different life 'Winters Bone' is excellent. I started watching it to humor the SO but ended up really liking it.

Re: Netflix
OMG! Starting watching a bit of it whilst having a late lunch and just saw that scene... Too funny!
EDIT: So I guess I may have to work late today to make up the time I've spent watching this...! It's fascinating to me, that a man that was worth so much money was doing everything with loans and apparently hadn't put much aside in savings or anything for his children...

Re: Netflix
It may have been mentioned before, but netflicks has streaming of Hotel Babylon.
If you want a break from all those cop shows, lawyer drama or medical dramas!
I'm sure I've seen it before, but I'm re-watching it and can only remember small bits. I'm really enjoying it.

Watched 'KIMJONGILIA'. If they ever bring that mass murderer to justice I hope they let the older lady on there take a crack at him.

Re: Netflix
Just started streaming Netflix for the kids shows via the Smart TV function on a Samsung TV as a trial for getting rid of cable. Content wise its going fine, but I only seem to be able to get it in 4:3 rather than 16:9, and it is leaving those black bands down the side of the screen. Movies from Netflix come out fine, but the Picture size mode on the TV seems to be disabled whatever I'm streaming (from netflix) - anyone else have this problem? Is it Samsung specific? Anyone know a way around it?

Are these TV shows new or old? As the older ones will only be 4:3.
Maybe give a few titles and see what others on BE can get?

Re: Netflix
First ones we looked at were Fawlty Towers, so I wasn't concerned as that made sense. Last night and tonight we were watching recent (2009-2011) programs off DisneyXD etc - Wizards of Waverley Place, Jessie, Leave it to Charlie...things like that.

Re: Netflix
Just to confirm (what you already know) Jessie is 16:9 with borders above and below on my 4:3 tablet.

I couldn't replace cable with Netflix. Whilst I do like it, the new content isn't there and you have to wait quite a long time to get it, especially on movies.
