Not worked in Carlyn but have done a fair bit in Terra Ceia park next door. Our places are mostly snowbirds with the money to spend 4-6 months every winter here. Carlyn, on the other hand, is full of retiree incomers who have decided that Florida is the place to live despite the fact that they haven’t got any money and the cost of living is a site more here than Ohio*, that park is falling apart. * You may insert other fly over states here as you see fit. |

I'm here living in Florida and for the last couple of days I've heard a story coming out of Sarasota on the Gulf of Mexico coast about a captain of a tourist charter fishing boat that held all the passengers hostage after a dispute. Apparently he had been seen boozing and taking drugs before he got involved in an argument and threatened to shoot all on board. finally docked some hours late. Oh, and he did fire his gun a few times to scare the passengers. Only in Florida!!
Sorry, unable to attach the story, if anyone can help. My good lady had heard about this story via the usual sources available to local locals, when I mentioned this post her comment was that the term Florida man is being avoided in this story, as it doesn’t fit the hooray-Henry image Sarasota likes to portray. |
