Where in my posts did i say that i am going back to Luton? I have never said that, i am going back to England. I was born in Luton, that does not mean i am going back there. Please do not put words in my mouth that i have not said. If you like the states fine, i do not and that is why i am leaving.

I was wondering what my reply would be.
Sorry wrong assumption and I did not put words in your mouth you created the thought in the 1st place.

Well what ever good luck in your new venture.

So have I, but I'm kinda partial to the old place now so I'm staying.

Good luck with the move. I hope you settle in easily

Interesting question. I'm not sure what hubby's answer would be - I guess maybe whichever side he saw as 'right' as the reason we went to war.

Should that be "putter" with two ts? As in 1 Kings 20:11 "And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off."

How did i create it? I never said i was going to Luton, you did, you said that. I just said i do not like the United States, i have met many Americans that do not like it. I only joined this forum for information and some insight to areas of England and i got some and this will be my final post. One last comment, i find it amusing that you people call yourselves expats, your actually immigrants. It should be called the British Immigrant forum.

TBH I struggled with that. It seemed that I had two choices and I certainly didn't want it to sound like the golf stick thing.

Yeah, I get the golf association when I see "putter". Problem is, I see "puter" as a colloquial word for "computer", but missing an apostrophe.

I think it's one of those ones where you can't win, whatever you do.

But as "putting" is a fairly common word, surely using "putter" would be obvious?

I really hate it when people refer to the computer as the 'puter. It makes me stick spoons in the garbage disposal.

Yes, it's a joke best told orally.
