But, how wide are you casting the net when you refer to mainstream US parties? As far as I know, there are only two. UKIP is among a half dozen or more minor UK parties, if we define major UK parties as Tories, Labour and Lib Dems.

If we are talking about BNP the US has all kinds of fringe crazies with more members or adherents than BNP.

The U.S. is defined by racism. The impetus for bidding for independence in the late 18 th century was that the ruling classes knew that slavery was going to outlawed first in the UK then in the rest of the Empire.

1. What does "defined by racism" mean?
2. What you say is, at best, a half truth
3. Things have changed in 250 years. For example, the British ran trans-Atlantic slave trade as we all know.

Again, I don't fault people pointing out racism in the US, I fault them for doing it exclusively and while not noticing racism (or even electing racists) in their own countries. The US did not invent racism and the US isn't the only place in the world that has racist people.

Well, the British outlawed the trans Atlantic slave trade in 1808. The Royal Navy policed the ban, since there was no UN in those days. The United States of America was most reluctant to join the British in this ban.

When I wrote "defined by racism," I simply meant that the USA was founded as a racist, slave owning polity. See the US constitution and its amendments, and the genocidal wars that the U.S. waged to increase its territory.

North America in general just seems to have racism rooted in it's history and still to this day by some people.

Blacks in the US, Chinese in western Canada, I am sure Spain did something in Mexico towards the Native population there.

The US may be more in your face as they do have more liberal free speech laws then say Canada where racists have to be more quiet, and watch what they say.

Prejudice and Discrimination - The Canadian Encyclopedia

Even today in 2015, Asian's still report experiencing discrimination in BC.

Up until the mid 1950's, they kept area's white by putting in covenants that prohibited blacks, natives, Asian's and other non-whites from owning land or being renters in certain neighbourhoods, so those area's stayed white.

B.C. property titles bear reminders of a time when race-based covenants kept neighbourhoods white | National Post

I just wonder if there will ever be a time where all humans get along with one another and not treat people worse just because of their race.

I can't say about Europe, but racism and racist policies are deep rooted in the US and Canada's history.

To be fair, the worst and most egregious racism is the genocidal murder and displacement of native populations, as practiced by Europeans in the US, Canada, South Africa, Australia etc. in the 18th to 20th century. In Britain, this phase was worked through back in the Bronze Age and Iron Age so lost in the mists of time. Germans keep reviving the practice, though.

I agree.

Even to this day they suffer in a large portion of the continent.
