Perhaps I should do as Mr Ronan Keating once sang ... "You say it best, when you say nothing at all"

And to really say it best, try the original by Keith Whitley!

The main thing is that it's such a classic song!

Lots of families don't look mixed race, so how can you tell, presumably you're just going on the color of their skin?

Technically I am mixed race, but I don't identify as mixed, but technically speaking on the genetic level I am, despite the red hair and white skin.

What does "mixed race" even mean? Mrs P is 1/16 Cherokee, and some greater percentage German (1/8, I think, though it might be as much as 1/4), the only clue in her appearance as to her heritage is having black hair, though that is far from definitive for having a Cherokee ancestor. I believe I am some similar percentage German, on my mother's side, which I have always assumed explains my height.

I don't think many people would consider us to be "mixed race", and aside from Mrs P's appetite for sauerkraut (which she has happy memories of her grandmother preparing), I don't think we have any ancestral ties to anywhere other than Britain and the southern US.

Mixed race usually simply refers to skin color or language differences, plain and simple. I don't think anyone here that is married to an American considers themselves to be "mixed race", but of course, technically, they are!
