Well, that's what I thought. But I was alerted to something being not quite right when I realised that although I had heating on, the outside units were not doing anything at all. Nothing. At first I thought it was because my son had messed up the circuits for it when he did his little physics experiment (messed up the whole house) but no, this guy gave me the answer.3 Ways to Tell if That Contraption Is a Heat Pump or an AC

Which I then checked with the company I use for HVAC maintenance. All done in the units in the airhandler.

Not sure I need to buy more insulation for the attic, it is 2 foot deep in some places and a lot thinner in others.

DeWalt are top notch. Hilti make some good tools, too.

In 2016, I will do ALL the things!

I do actually intend to do some mosaic tile in the kitchen. Wish my kitchen luck.

One of those Sundays where you end up in your pjs all day and still do a load of yard work.

Incidentally did you know smoke alarms need to be replaced after 10 years. I've also added a couple of carbon monoxide detectors to our set up.

PJ's?

There was a blizzard out there this morning, I had as many layers on as I could plus a Balaclava plowing snow with my ATV and digging a car out that had got stuck.

They have an expiry date, it's true.

Carbon monoxide detectors are usually (fire regs are set by the state where you live) only required when either you have gas (natural or propane) heating, stove or water heater, and/or an open fire, and/or where there is an attached garage. In other words, an "all electric" house without an attached garage doesn't need a carbon monoxide detector. Otherwise they are just a "nice to have", though probably sensible if anyone living in the house smokes.

It snowed here this morning. Some of it settled. It was all gone before lunchtime.

Outside all day today, no PJs.

Took down the fence. Painted a window frame. Cleaned all the christmas cardboard off the patio and put up some fairy lights out back.

Thinking about putting in a new kitchen counter top tonight.

Nope, nor the Panthers. It was remarkably quiet in Lowes this afternoon, and I only realized why about 30 seconds ago!
