The Good Ol' Days. :(

But is total crap when it comes to cleaning clothes because there is barely enough water to soak an earbud.
As for the rest of you ... lol

Front loader vs top.
We now have a front loader and frankly I notice no difference other then the front loader using less water and taking twice the time to clean.
60 mins vs 30 mins the top loader in our last place took.

I think the sound difference (daft exhausts aside) between vee engines and inliners is down to the differing firing cycles of those types of engine rather than the piston size.
My last bike redlined at 14k, I only had the balls to redline it in first gear (70+mph), it was mental anywhere above 6k in any gear and ****** scary above 10k, which I may have done once or twice in 6th gear
It had double sprung valves, but was tricky telling if there was any valve bounce at high revs as I was more concerned with trying to keep my head on my shoulders The rev limiter wasn't present on my slightly smaller 900 Fireblade and it performed quite well when the needle was buried in the red zone, I had 'tinkered' with it a bit though.
Was the BRM 1.5l V16 not a short stroker? I was under the impression that stroke length had more bearing upon idle/redline values than crown size?

Our front loader also uses a lot less detergent to get the clothes clean. Having young kids certainly tests the cleaning ability.

Seriously. It's the bloody laundry - a chore. Not recreation, not fun, not in the least bit interesting. Does your device get it done the way you want? If the answer is yes, congratulations. Now maybe we can all stop the ****ing gatekeeping before this develops into a 'fascinating' thread about what bloody shape of sponge washes your dishes the right way.

Now here's an example of the real 'good old days'. BBC continuity music. Off sick from school with bugger all else to do but sit on the sofa waiting to puke again? No worries, Auntie had you covered

I do and I am pretty sure it is true. Having a rather strong case of OCD/Germphobia , getting clothes clean is pretty important to me.
Despite what the likes of Consumer Reports say, I can not fathom how a front-loading washer could clean clothes as effectively as a top loader with a dual action agitator , whos vanes comes all the way to the top ; unless the drum in the front-loader fills up close to halfway.
You also can't soak clothes in a front-loader, the water is too bloody little and I haven't found a washer that allows for soaking. We bought a close to top-of-the-line GE a few years back and it has no soak option.
The Hotpoint front-loader I had back in the early 90s in London actually filled up with more water than this G.E. unit. Bought a Whirlpool top loading dual action agitator a few years back cause I hate the front-loader.
This Milnor commercial front-loader fills up with a bit more water than the usual residental unit, so it might do a good job but only if it is only half filled with clothes.

As long as the dishes are clean, the way by which they get there minds not me.
