UK bonds didn't do well

The closing yield for 10 year UK bonds was 1.077, down from 1.385 yesterday, which is a 28.6% drop.

It would appear between 13% and 65%, and reading this site, there seems to be no definitive answer.

Still, the good news about leaving the EU is we will be able to import as much Moldovan milk as we like. I always thought the restrictions on Moldovan milk were crazy! Go Brexit!!!!!

Generally speaking, with bonds, if the yield of the bond is down that means that the bond is doing well.

How old people have screwed over the younger generation - in three charts
So the people who will have to deal with the consequences of Brexit the longest are the ones who voted strongly against Brexit. That and the complete divides in support for Brexit with Scotland, London and Northern Ireland voting strongly to remain don't bode well for the stability of the UK moving forward. Interesting times.

The bond might be "doing well", but the low/falling yield is indicative of a market expectation of falling and/or prolonged low interest rates, usually meaning economic weakness.

In the case of US bonds there is also the complicating factor that the world uses the US as its piggy bank, stashing money there for safety in times of uncertainty, and money flowing into the US gets invested in Treasuries, driving prices up and yields down.

Perhaps the EU prevented them from going to school.

It beggars belief, it really does.

So, some people have buyer's remorse. It is always that way with elections.

No, they didn't understand that they were actually voting and what the effect of that vote would be. They seem to have been playing a game with a hugely important decision. They are idiots.

and of those laws, we have a say in them and in fact are key contributors, eg human rights legislation. I know in my industry (pharmaceuticals) unpicking the legislation will be very "interesting". We're leaders in thinking and the European Medicines Agency is headquartered in London. We're facing becoming the equivalent of Norway and Iceland in that industry instead.

According to sky news the 3 demographics that voted to leave are old, poor or stupid.

It's called democracy. All adults get a vote. Half the population has below average intelligence .... but they still get a vote.

The arrogance of people such as you who patronize those "little people", who would benefit from your sage advice and by following your rational and well-thought-out lead, beggars belief.

I don't believe I am any of the above ..... I would however give up some wealth in exchange for freedom and national sovereignty.
