Christmas Pudding
I know it's a bit premature to be talking about Christmas but I would like to know where you all buy your Christmas Puddings from (sourced from within the US, please!) as I have never made one from scratch before and I want to surprise my husband this year. Any good websites?
Any help would be appreciated! Many thanks!!!!! |

Re: Christmas Pudding
made mine from scratch using the Delia Smith recipe. Had a bit of trouble getting some ingredients (barley wine - just used stout instead, had to look up the spice she wanted online and make my own mix of it, and suet - had to ask a butchers dept) but it came out great! The other difficult part was getting a steaming bowl - as they dont have anything specific like that here. Used a pyrex bowl in the end - but bought some plastic lidded pudding basins when i was back in the UK last time ready for this year (as well as the missing soice lol).

Re: Christmas Pudding
We did from scratch too - luckily my mate is a butcher so sorted me some suet out.
Otherwise, try the uk online grocers, I know some friends of ours ordered from The English Pork Pie Company earlier this year and were suitably impressed! So impressed they never saved me anything :frown: We've ordered from Goodwoods, Camerons (well visited not ordered, it's up the road) with decent enough results. |
Re: Christmas Pudding
Fortnum and Mason of course!!!

Re: Christmas Pudding
When I lived in Michigan I could find them in K Mart and Meijers...have to look hard...not in the usual places. If you're near the CA border you could hop over and get one there.
